Step 1 :Find the mean of the data :

- 65+61+62+66+71= 5=325/5=

Step 2 : Find the distance between each data and mean.

Distance between 65 and 65 is 0

Distance between 61 and 65 is 4

Distance between 62 and 65 is 3

Distance between 66 and 65 is 1

Distance between 71 and 65 is 6

Step 3 :Add all the distances :

0+4+3+1+6=14

Step 4 : Divide it by the number of data :

14/5=2.8

n = Number of values
