An outside angle is equal to the sum of the two opposite inside angles.

Set up the equation to get:

6x = (x+40) + (3x+10)

Simplify the right side:

6x = 4x + 50

Subtract 4x from both sides:

2x = 50

Divide both sides by 2:

x = 50/2

x = 25

Now you have X you can solve for each angle:

6x = 6*25 = 150

(x+40) = 25 + 40 = 65

(3x +10) = 3(25) +10 = 75 + 10 = 85
