Explanation:

(5)/(10x)-9=8

adding 9 on both sides we get

(5)/(10x)=9+8

(5)/(10x)=17

5=17 * 10x

x=(5)/(170)

(3)/(4x)-3=1+(5)/(12x)

(3)/(4x)-(5)/(12x)=1+3

(9-5)/(12x)=4

(4)/(12x)=4

12x=1

x=(1)/(12)
