Answer:

the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy.

Abortion is the ending of a pregnancy by removal or expulsion of an embryo or fetus before it can survive outside the uterus. An abortion that occurs without intervention is known as a miscarriage or spontaneous abortion.

An abortion, generally speaking, is a process in which a fetus (unborn and undeveloped baby) is removed from a woman’s womb through medical processes. This is usually performed within the span of the first trimester of human pregnancy or towards the beginning of the second trimester if it is a medical emergency. Abortions occur for a variety of reasons including: danger to the mother’s health, fetus exposure to drugs/alcohol, fetus impairments, the mother’s inability to care for the child, etc.
