The data from an independent-measures research study produce a sample mean difference of 6 points and an estimated standard error of 2 points. If there are n = 8 scores in each sample, what is the value for the t statistic?

Answer: The value for the t statistic = 3

Explanation:

The formula to calculate the t-test statistic is given by :-

t=\frac{\overline{x}-\mu}{S.E.}, here
\overline{x} is sample mean ,
\mu is population mean and S.E. is standard error.

Given : The sample mean difference =
6

Standard error : 2

Sample size : 8

Then , the value for the t statistic will be :-

t=(6)/(2)=3

Hence, the value for the t statistic =3
