for a short time after a wave is created by wind, the height of the wave can be modeled using y = a sin 2π/T, where a is the amplitude and T is the period of the wave in seconds. How many times over the first 5 seconds does the graph predict the wave to be 2 feet height?

Answer:

2 times

Explanation:

We are given that the height of the wave can be modeled using

y=asin (2\pi)/(T)

We have to find the value of amplitude

T=5 seconds

Height =y=2 feet

Where a = Amplitude

Substitute the values then we get

2 =a sin (2* 180)/(5)

Because
pi=180 ^(\circ)

2=a sin 72^(\circ)

2= a* 0.952[/txe]

[tex]a=(2)/(0.952)

a=2.1

Amplitude =2 feet

Hence, the graph is 2 times over the first 5 seconds when the wave to be 2 feet height.
