y = | x+1 |

Explanation:

recall that to translate any graph horizontally by a distance "a", you need to replace the x term by (x+a)

Also recall that positive values of a moves the graph to the left and negative values of a moves the graph to the right

Hence in the case we want to translate the graph by 1 unit (i.e a = 1) and we are told we want to move it to the left (i.e positive a value)

hence we have to add +1 to the x term to end up with

y = | (x + 1) |
