Answer and Explanation:
BEA stands for Bile Esculin Agar
Its main purpose is to differentiate between the D streptococci and enterococci .
The BEA medium contains bile that inhibit the growth of gram-positive bacteria and the sodium azide inhibits the growth of gram-negative bacteria.
This medium is also used to differentiate between Klebsiella and Enterobacter, and Serratia species from other Enterobacteriaceae.
