The reason the United States and it’s allies engaged in daily airlifts to deliver supplies and food by air to West Berlin in 1948 and 1949

East Berlin was occupied by the ussr during that time making it very difficult to get sufficient resources to West Berlin so to compromise the allies flew supplies into West Berlin for a period of time.
