At supermarket, shopping trolleys are 1 meter long. You friend works collecting them and stacking them into an area. Each shopping trolleys in the stack adds on 0.25m. How many trolleys could be stacked in a single line of 10m?​

Explanation:

37 trolleys

The distance covered by the first trolley = 1 mt.

The distance covered by the second trolley = 0.25 mts

This is because the rest of the part of the trolley is being adjusted in the space provided in the first trolley.

The total space available = 10 mts

Out of which 1 mt is already occupied by the first trolley. The rest of the 9 mts is to be covered by the part of trolley covering 0.25 mts.

Hence total part of trolleys in 9 mts


=(9)/(0.25)

= 36

Hence the total trolleys adjusted = 36+1

Hence the final answer is 37 Trolleys.
