Answer:

x = 56

Explanation:

To find the missing leg of the triangle, you need to use the Pythagorean Theorem.

The formula for the Pythagorean Theorem is a^2 + b^2 = c^2

In this we have the length for leg b and the hypotenuse which is represented by c in the formula.

So now you would plug the numbers into the formula:

a^2 + 33^2 = 65^2

Now solve 33^2 and 65^2

a^2 + 1089 = 4225

Now subtract 1089 by itself and then by 4225

a^2 + 1089 = 4225

- 1089 = -1089

__________

a^2 = 3136

Now find the square root of 3,136 because it is the inverse operation of squared.

So the square root of 3136 is 56.

x = 56

I'm sure you know the formula for Pythagoras Theorem.

The formula is
a^(2) +b^(2) = c^(2)

C = Your hypotenuse

A + B = The other two adjacent sides.

So you plug in the numbers

33^(2) + b^(2) =65^(2)

And you'll get the answer, which is 56.
