Answer: 2

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : There is an annual hot dog eating contest in Plattsburg, MS and the average number of hot dogs eaten by one person
\mu=36

Standard deviation :
\sigma=6

let X be a random variable that represents the number of hot dogs eaten by any person in annual hot dog eating contest .

The formula to calculate the critical value of z is given by :-

z=(x-\mu)/(\sigma)

For
x=36+2(6)=48

z=(48-36)/(6)=2

Hence, the critical value for a person who can eat more than 2 deviations above the mean = 2.
