Explanation:

Add the two equations together to cancel out the 3y's: 2x +7x + 3y - 3y = 3 + 24

Simplify this down: 9x = 27

Now divide through by 9: x = 3

Replace x with 3 in either of the equations, I'm going to use the first one since it looks easier: 2(3) + 3y = 3

Simplifiy: 6 + 3y = 3

And rearrange: 3y = -3

Divide by 3: y = -1

So the answer is (3,-1)
