What's the purpose of varying the order of subjects, verbs, and modifiers in different sentences within a paragraph?

As well as emphasis, if can be used to help with sentence flow. Sentences with appropriate variation can be easier to read, may better communicate the idea of the work, and avoid the mundanity of repetition.
