The production of tobacco as a cash crop. The reason why is because the farming land they were able to have could cultivate tobacco, and tobacco had multiple purposes and uses. Then demand came for it so they were able to make a profit out of it and prosper from that money.

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

The colony of Jamestown had a rocky history at best. It was made up of people that for the most part, knew nothing of farming or living off the land. They went through periods of starvation and picking the wrong kind of industry before they hit on tobacco 7 years after their arrival.

So the answer is B
