When we toss two dice , then the total number of possible outcomes
=6^2=36

The outcomes having sum less than and equals to 5 :-

(1,1), (1,2), (1,3), (1,4), (2,1), (2,2),(2,3), (3,1), (3,2), (4,1)

The number of outcomes of having a sum less than and equals to 5 = 11

The number of outcomes of having a sum greater than 5 = 36-11=25

Now, the probability of getting a sum greater than 5 is given by :-


(25)/(36)
