Explanation:

Given:

r= 14.5

AB cuts r=14.5 in two parts one parts length=4

remaining length, x = 14.5 - 4 =10.5

draw a line from center of circle to point A making right angled triangle

Now hypotenuse=r=14.5

and one side of triangle=10.5

Using pythagoras theorem to find the third side:

c^2=a^2+b^2

14.5^2=10.5^2+b^2

14.5^2-10.5^2=b^2

b^2=100

b=10

AB=2b

=2(10)

=20

Hence length of cord AB=20!
