To find value of x we can use the sine angle function. From definition and basics of trigonometry we know that,

\sin(\theta)=\frac{\mathrm{opposite}}{\mathrm{hypotenuse}}

In this case our opposite is x and our hypotenuse is 15m and our angle
\theta is 35°.

Therefore,

\sin(35^(\circ))=(x)/(15)

If we solve for x,

x=15\sin(35^(\circ))\approx\boxed{8.6\mathrm{m}}

Hope this helps.
