Answer:

Watershed refers to an area of land that has a common set of water bodies that empty into a single larger body of water. Watershed are very important in our environments because the runoff in a watershed ends up in other water bodies and this defined the quality of water that can be found in an area where watershed exist.

Land use activities in a watershed area has great impacts on the quality of water that is found in the environment. For instance, water runoffs from the land usually carry diverse types of debris such as oil, pesticides, fertilizers, debris, soil, animals dungs, etc into the surrounding water bodies, thus negatively affecting the quality of water in rivers and streams.

In order to preserve the quality of water in a watershed, humans must ensure that they remove wastes from land surfaces so that those wastes will not be carried into the rivers.
