Once the Bolsheviks managed to defeat the forces of the czar and they gained control of the country, one of the first things they did was to force the czar to abdicate. This put an end to the monarchy in Russia which lasted for around a millennium. The Bolsheviks were people from the upper class, and they had the communism as their ideology, so led by Lenin they rushed to establish it in the country. While Lenin had some very good ideas and wanted to implement a textbook communism in the country, in reality it was not going in that direction, and it turned out to be one of the worst periods experienced by the people of Russia and the other countries that were part of the Soviet Union.
