A jogger runs completely around the outside of a football field. If the field is a rectangle 360 feet long and 160 feet wide, how far will the jogger run after one time around? Show how you solved the problem.

Answer:

1040 feet

Explanation:

Rectangle has 4 sides, 2 sides are length (same) and 2 sides are width (same).

So if jogger goes around, he will go around 4 sides each with lengths 360, 160, 360, and 160 respectively.

Hence, he will run:

360 + 160 + 360 + 160 = 1040 feet
