(D)Using the model formula: P= -55/4 t+340, predict the park’s owl population in 2022.

E) if the model accurately predicts the owl population on a long term basis, when will there be no more owls in the park?

Answer:

D: 216 E: 2038

Explanation:

For D:

P= - 55/4 × t + 340

Substitute in for t (2022-2013=9)

-55/4 × 9 = - 123.75

-123.75+340= 216.25

Round down to 216

For E:

The owl population =0

0=-55/4×t+340

-340=-55/4 × t

-340÷-55/4=t

T=24.7272

Round to 25

25+2013 =2038
