Does this sound right for a thesis statement? "Martin Luther King, Jr. used stylistic elements such as the use of simile, imagery, metaphor, and other rhetorical devices, these stylistic elements helped King to influence the person reading the letter, these elements help persuade those reading this letter to see where Martin Luther King Jr. is coming from factually and emotionally."

The reason why is because it's a bit of topic from the main point it's getting to and seems long when it could be summarized and still give the same message.
