Hi!

I was wondering if you can name any organizations, institutions, internships or apprenticeships to help become a surgeon.

Thanks! :)

Hello! If you’re Interested in becoming a surgeon, You have a long road in front of you! Being a surgeon is a stressful job, and complicated. But, if you really apply yourself, and work hard, you could save lives. Which Is a awesome thing to be able to do. I just wanted to note this.

First, prepared to go to school, for a long time. Have you ever noticed why most doctors are older? Well, they have spent most of their lives in schooling, but some wait until they are older to go to school, since it’s a big responsibility. You will have to get your bachelors, complete med school, and then complete residency. Which, just a little reminder, in med school, most people don’t make it through it. It’s difficult and there’s a lot of competition.

But, the answer to your question: for guidance, or tips visit the American College of Surgeons website. They have lots of tips online.

There’s med schools in almost every state, depending on your state, their could be multiple.

And there’s a lot of internships available! This is important for when you are in high school. This is too be sure you’re 100% sure you don’t a have a tough stomach or run at the sight of blood. Again, your state matters, but one Internship i can think of is High School and Pre-medical Student Stanford Summer Internship.

Anyway, hope I help, and good luck!
