Can someone help me please?

A rectangle with a perimeter of 92 inches has a length of 14 inches longer than its width. What is its width in inches.

l = length of the rectangle

The perimeter of a rectangle is the length around it:

P = 2w + 2l

Given:

P = 92

l = w + 14

Substituting:

92 = 2w + 2(w + 14)

92 = 2w + 2w + 28

64 = 4w

The width of the rectangle is 16 inches.
