This is, the producers like plants, are eaten by primary consumers like insects, and these animals are eaten by carnivorous consumers which are, then, secondary consumers

It is, in short, a current of energy that begins with photosynthesis (plants) and then this energy transfers from one organism to another through nutrition (in animals) . The food chain, therefore, begins with photosynthetic vegetables, which have the ability to create living matter from the inert.
