B. Metaphor.

“The clues are my road map...”
Obviously these clues aren’t really a road map, but the word ‘are’ is used, and not ‘like.’
Hope that helps!

Answer:

B. Metaphor

Step-by-step explanation:

A metaphor is a device that gives a description of a thing or an action in a way that is not actually true, but makes it easier to develop an idea or compare two elements. According to this definition, in this case, the metaphor indicates that "the clues" are a "road map", in order to symbolize what the clues symbolize to the speaker.
