Answer: y=-3/2x+3

Explanation:

when they say to find the equation of the line, it means to put it into slope intercept form, or y=mx+b

m is the slope

b is the y intercept, or the first point on the y axis that the line intersects.

Step 1: find the slope

There are 2 ways to find the slope.

Method 1: Rise/run

Find any point on the line. make sure it's an actual point, not one that's in between 2 seperate points. An example is the point (-2,6).

Next, find the NEAREST point on the line. (Actual point, not one in between a point). I used the nearest point that was lower since the line goes down and hence has to have a negative slope. (0,3) is the next point.

RISE: How many points you go up or down to get from one point to the next. In this case, we go down by 3 units.

RUN: How many points you go right or left to get from one point to the other. Here we go right 2 units.

Rise/run= -3/2

-3/2 because the line is going DOWN. When the line goes down, the slope is always negative.

Step 2: find the y intercept

The y intercept is 0,3 because this is where the line first crosses over the y axis.

Step 3: Plug into the y=mx+b equation

m is the slope, and the slope is -3/2. So m=-3/2

b= 3 (because y=3).

Final equation:

y=mx+b

y= -3/2x+3

Hope this helps!!

Answer: y= -3/2x+3

Step-by-step explanation: 3 is the y intercept where the line meets the y axis. -3/2 is the slope Rise/Run
