Answer:

\huge \boxed{x=41}

Explanation:

First thing you do is add by 2 from both sides of equation.

\displaystyle x-2+2=3x-84+2

Simplify.

\displaystyle x=3x-82

Then you subtract by 3x from both sides of equation.

\displaystyle x-3x=3x-82-3x

Simplify.

\displaystyle -2x=-82

Divide by -2 from both sides of equation.

\displaystyle (-2x)/(-2)=(-82)/(-2)

Simplify, to find the answer.

\displaystyle -82/-2=41

\large \boxed{x=41}, which is our answer.

Answer:

x = 41

Explanation:

Subtract the lower term in both sides

3x - x = 2x

2x - 84 = -2

Add 84 in both sides

84 -2 = 82

2x = 82

Divide 2 in both sides

2x/2 = x

82/2 = 41

Simplify

x = 41

Answer

x = 41
