Choose the equation below that represents the line passing through the point (1, -4) with a slope of -

Oy - 4 = 3x - 1)
Oy+4 = 2(x - 1)
Oy+ 4 = 3x - 1)
Oy - 4 = 2(x + 1)

For this case we have that by definition, the point-slope equation of a line is given by:

y-y_ {0} = m (x-x_ {0})

Where:

m: It is the slope of the line

(x_ {0}, y_ {0}): It is a point through which the line passes

We have as data that:

(x_ {0}, y_ {0}) = (1, -4)

Substituting:

y - (- 4) = m (x-1)\\y + 4 = m (x-1)

All that remains is to replace the value of the slope.

Answer:

y + 4 = m (x-1)
