Explanation:

The angle 30° and 2x are complementary angles.

Two angles are called complementary angles, if their sum is one right angle (90°).

Therefore we have the equation:

30 + 2x = 90 subtract 30 from both sides

2x = 60 divide both sides by 2

x = 30
