Answer:

Equation is 4x + 6 = 598, where x represents smaller number.

Numbers are 148, 152, 156 and 160

Explanation:

Let x be the smaller natural number,

So, the other consecutive natural numbers are x+1, x+2, x+3,

According to the question,

Sum of x, x+1, x+2 and x+3 is 598,

⇒ x + x + 1 + x + 2 + x + 3 = 598

⇒ 4x + 6 = 598

Which are the required equation,

Subtract 6 on both sides,

4x = 592

Divide both sides by 4,

x = 148

Hence, the numbers are 148, 152, 156 and 160
