Answer:

\displaystylex=25

Explanation:

First, you subtract by 5 from both sides of equation.

\displaystyle(3x)/(5)+5-5=20-5

Then, simplify.

\displaystyle 20-5=15

\displaystyle (3x)/(5)=15

Multiply by 5 from both sides of equation.

\displaystyle(5*3x)/(5)=15*5

Simplify.

15*5=75

3x=75

Divide by 3 from both sides of equation.

\displaystyle(3x)/(3)=(75)/(3)

Simplify, to find the answer.

75/3=25

x=25 is the correct answer.

Hope this helps!

Follow PEMDAS - but backwards.
(Parenthesis, Exponents. Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction)

First SUBTRACT 5 from each side of the equation...

3x/5 + 5 (- 5) = 20 (- 5)

3x/5 = 15

Next MULTIPLY each side by 5...

3x/5 ( • 5) = 15 (• 5)

3x = 75

The third step if you need is to DIVIDE ...

3x ( / 3) = 75 (/ 3)

x = 25
