Which method correctly solves the equation using the distributive property?
-0.2(x-4)=-1.7

Distribute -0.2:

-0.2 * x = -0.2x

-0.2 * -4 = 0.8

-0.2x + 0.8 = -1.7

Subtract 0.8 from both sides:

0.8 - 0.8 = 0

-1.7 - .8 = -2.5

Divide -.2x from both sides:

-0.2x = -2.5

x = 12.5

Hence, the value of x is 12.5
