Could ABC be congruent to ADC by SSS? Explain.

Explanation:

SSS means: side - side - side

This means that when you look at the two triangles, in this case ABC and ADC their sides MUST be corresponding to be congruent (equal). This is easily identifiable by the tics or little dash marks you see on the triangles. If the dashes correspond to the same sides (hence side-side-side rule) then the theorem is proven correct and the triangles of congruent. Take a look at the attached image for an example :D
