Let the Total Amount of money won in Lottery be : L

Given - Jane and Ben share the Lottery in the Ratio 7 : 3

\implies \mathsf{Jane\;share\;of\;money = \left((7)/(7 + 3)\right) * L}

\implies \mathsf{Jane\;share\;of\;money = (7L)/(10)}

Given : Jane's share of money is $5600

\mathsf{\implies (7L)/(10) = 5600}

\mathsf{\implies L = (56000)/(7)}

\mathsf{\implies L = 8000}

:\implies Total Lottery Money = $8000

\implies \mathsf{Ben's\;Share = \left((3)/(7 + 3)\right) * 8000}

\implies \mathsf{Ben's\;Share = \left((3)/(10)\right) * 8000}

\implies \mathsf{Ben's\;Share = \left(3 * 800\right)}

\implies \mathsf{Ben's\;Share = 2400}

Answer : Ben received $2400

Answer:

Ben's share = $2400

Explanation:

Ratio = 7:3

Jane's share = 7x

Ben's share = 3x

7x = 5600

x = 5600/7 = $ 800

Ben's share = 3x = 3*800 = $2400
