One x-intercept of a parabola is at the point (-3,0). Use the factor method to find the other x-intercept for the parabola defined by this equation:

The other x-intercept is (-2,0)

Explanation:

-x^2-5x-6

-(x^2+5x+6)

We know x=-3 is a x-intercept so x+3 is a factor

-(x+3)( )

The other factor has to be x+2 since 3(2)=6 and 2+3=5

So -x^2-5x-6 is the same as -(x+3)(x+2)

Which means the other x-intercept is (-2,0)
