For this case we must factor the following expression:

4x ^ 3 + x ^ 2-8x-2

We group the first two and the last two terms:

(4x ^ 3 + x ^ 2) + (- 8x-2)

We factor the highest common denominator of each group:

x ^ 2 (4x + 1) -2 (4x + 1)

We take the common factor
4x + 1:

(4x + 1) (x ^ 2-2)

Answer:

(4x + 1) (x ^ 2-2)
