Why this happens?

(8^6)^3

Imagine you have 8^6.

8*8*8*8*8*8 to the power of three or ^3.

(8*8*8*8*8*8)^3.

8*8*8*8*8*8*8*8*8*8*8*8*8*8*8*8*8*8*8*8 which = 8^18.

This is why (8^6)^3=(8^(6*3) or 8^18.
