Ala-ud-din Khalji was the greatest ruler of the Khalji dynasty. This dynasty was located in the Indian subcontinent, and it was a Muslim sultanate. This ruler showed great military leadership and ambition, and having Delhi as his center, he managed to expand his territory significantly. Defeating his enemies was the first step, as he managed to move away the danger of competition for his position. After that, he managed to fend of the Mongols in numerous occasions, later turning the sides and he attacked the Mongols, managing to defeat them and take over Afghanistan. On the Indian subcontinent, Ala-ud-din Khalji managed to put an end to numerous Hindu kingdoms, like Gujarat, Malwa, Siwana, Chittor, Ranthambore, and Jalore, becoming the dominant force in South Asia.
