Rhizomes are involved in the production of stems and “reproduction” of new plant parts. It has been theorized that rhizomes, when removed, can grow into completely new (but genetically identical) plants! It’s kind of like budding, so it’s pretty cool.

I hope I helped!

Answer:

A banana plant produces rhizomes involved in supporting the aerial part of the banana plant, ie the leaves.

Step-by-step explanation:

The rhizome is a type of underground or aerial stem, usually cylindrical in shape. Although it looks like a root, the rhizome has buds, so it is classified as a stem. This type of stem grows parallel to the ground, forming adventitious roots from the nodes. The rhizome is involved in supporting the aerial part of the plant, that is, it is responsible for maintaining the plant with the leaves raised, as we can see in the banana plant.
