8/x - 2/x = -4 -2

6/x = -6

x = 6/-6

x= -1

Explanation:

if you cross multiply, you get 8(x-4)=2(x-2)

Multiply the terms and you get: 8x-32=2x-4

Now you should move the terms around so all of your x's are on one side, and you'll be left with 6x=36.

Divide both sides by 6 so the x is by itself, and x=6
