Answer:

William Wilberforce was an English politician, philanthropist and abolitionist, who being a member of the British Parliament, led a campaign against slavery. He proposed a bill to the House of Commons to eliminate slavery in 1791. And since then he defended the abolitionist project until 1807, the year in which his bill was approved by the British Parliament.
