we know that

The perimeter is equal to


P=2(x+y)


P=3\ mi

so


3=2(x+y) -----> equation A


x=4y ----> equation B

substitute equation B in equation A and solve for y


3=2(4y+y)


3=10y


y=0.3\ mi

Find the value of x


x=4(0.3)=1.2\ mi

therefore

The length of the rectangular park is
1.2\ mi and the width of the rectangular park is
0.3\ mi
