Answer: A

This is because semicolons can only be used when the two parts can be separate sentences. “so I gave it to her” cannot be a sentence on its own, so the answer is A.

Use the semicolon if you have two independent clauses connected without a conjunction. Example: I have painted the house; I still need to sand the floors.
