Answer:

•peasants were organized into large communes

Step-by-step explanation:

The great leap forward was an attempt and a real effort by the Chinese Government lead by Mao Zedong in order to convert a society that had a mainly agrarian economic task into a mainly industrial and technological society, the goal was to do it in just 5 years, it was an impossible task but the Chinese Government had the power and the social obbedience needed to try, it gathered peasants in large communes and it resulted in chaos and hard times for the people that had to do a job that they never did before.

Answers is not:

•intellectuals dominated the government - The Great Leap Forward saw to the destruction of many scholars & the educational system in an effort to complete the brainwash that Mao Zedong started.

•Mao and his forces escaped from their enemies - Mao and his forces had already suppressed Chiang Kai-Shek & his Nationalists, who then escaped to Formosa, or Taiwan. This was many years before the Great Leap Forward Plan.
