The herding community picture above is located in a seminary’s climate in Africa. If the people do not carefully manage how and when their livestock feed off the land, what is most likely to occur?

If the herders are not careful with their herds and feeding patterns, the result will be overgrazing and destruction of the grazing lands, probably causing desertification as well. The semi-arid regions do not have lot of food sources, and the grasses that grow there are usually short and not in very big amount. Because of the limitations in the food sources, the herders have to be careful as to how much they allow their herds to graze at particular place, as if they let them graze every grass at a particular place, they will destroy its chances for reproduction, thus leaving barren land for the next year and foreseeable future.
