There are many effects of trade, either via the Silk Road or the sea. Which of the following is the best response for long-term effects of trade during this time period of study?

Populations grew and cultural exchanges blended languages together.
A merchant class developed, cities grew, and religions spread.
Mongols honored trade and protected travel by land and sea.
A new wealthy class controlled trade; this pattern is seen today as well.

The answer is option C "A merchant class developed, cities grew, and religions spread." Trading was when two cities, empires, countries exchanged resources for other resources. In result cities grew, new classes were developed, and religions were spread. Two cities who are in a trading relationship with each other most likely will teach each other their ways and spread their religions with theirs.

Hope this helps!
