Explanation:

basically slope determined from a graph like this can be solved by counting. the formula you need to use is rise/run. choose one of the orange points on the line and then count how many spaces up the next dot is. once we have our number (3), you can count how many spaces over the dot is to the right (1) this leaves you with the fraction 3/1 or 3.

also if the dot is to the left it means the slope is negative. so if the dot is 3 up and 1 to the left the slope would be -3
