Answer:

m = -4

Explanation:

(y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

(-4 - 8)/(2-(-1))

-4 - 8 = -12\\ 2-(-1)=3

(-12)/(3) = -4

m = -4

Answer:

M=-4

Explanation:

The formula for the slope is:

m=
(y^(2) -y^(1) )/(x^(2) -x^(1) )

You have two points the first one would be: (-1,8)

So
x^(1)= -1  y^(1)= 8

The second point is: (2,4)

So
x^(2)= 2  y^(2)= 4

Now you just have to put the values inside the formula:

m=
(-4-8))/(2-(-1))

m=
(-12)/(3)

m=-4
